The purpose of the Missions Church Team is “to mobilize the church toward preparing and supporting missionaries and missions projects across barriers of distance, culture, and language for the proclamation of the Gospel of Christ and the planting of His church, outside the normal sphere of influence of our local congregation, and especially among people lacking such a witness within their normal cultural setting.”
Omega Missions and Church Planting is a ministry under Omega International Ministries (OIM). Through the various church departments and ministries, OIM endeavors to minister to the spiritual, social, physical, economic and emotional needs of communities and nations through winning souls to God’s kingdom and discipling them into committed followers of Christ. The Missions ministry is one of the vehicles we use to accomplish that vision.
Under the missions and church planting ministry there are several departments which include;
Prison Ministry
Through this ministry, we emphasize the redeeming power of Jesus Christ. Prisons ministry is not only meant for repentant convicts who want to turn from their past and live for Jesus, but also for incarcerated new believers and backsliders who are struggling hard to understand the bible and to live the Christian faith. Every year, we win over 100 souls through outreach to prisons. Sometimes when these prisoners have been released, we continue to give them relevant support in the new life. We also offer free counseling and encouragement, Support, Evangelism, Encourage morality and behavioral change.
Hospital Ministry
Through this ministry, we restore hope to the sick and lead them to a personal relation with Jesus Christ. Where possible, we provide physical needs to the needy patients. We visit different wards for children, men, women and other sections. Over the years, we have ministered to several hospitals within our nation and outside. Through this ministry, we have experienced the healing power of Jesus Christ. We also pray for the sick, distribute bibles and other relevant Christian literature, we also offer help and assistance where possible such as transport, food and other basic requirements considerably.
Door to Door Ministry
We also have a team of committed ministers who reach out home to home evangelizing . Through this department, we identify particular individuals and community needs which we deal with where possible. We pray for people’s needs, take prayer requests, invite people for service and fellowship. Over 300 souls are won to God’s Kingdom every year.
Open Evangelism and Crusade
We conduct open air evangelism within our community and identified communities where the gospel of God’s kingdom is being preached.
Sometimes we go deep in the villages and through these crusades, souls have been harvested for God’s kingdom. Every month, there is a particular community being evangelized in this regard and most times when we go out for missions, we normally conduct such open air preaching and communities have been greatly impacted.
Street Preaching
There are members on our team who are particularly anointed to minister the gospel through street preaching.
Church planting
Our church is involved in planting churches in different communities and adopting churches that are in need of fatherhood. We have planted churches both locally and internationally. Every year, we travel to nations like Germany, Sweden, Canada, Rwanda, Congo among others strengthening leaders, ministering to various congregations and expanding God’s Kingdom.
