Men's Ministry

Discipling men to maturity in Christ — prayer, fellowship, and service.

Men's Ministry

The goal of Men's Ministry is to disciple, encourage and build-up each man, until we all become mature in Christ (Eph. 4:13). Our objective is to see every man attending Omega Church become TOTAL in all aspects of life - mind, body, soul and spirit. We attempt to sharpen each other according to (Prov. 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another), through prayer, group activities and community service. We know that regardless of how strong each of us may be individually, it takes brothers in Christ to grow and stand.

Objectives of the men's ministry To mobilize men to serve and support the work of the church in Omega Healing Center. To disciple and consolidate men into firmly grounded Christians. To minister unto the men and to the communities that surrounds them.

The ministry carries out the following activities Resource Mobilization for completion of Church Building Mobilization of men and assimilation into small groups (cell groups, accountability/life groups/G12) Cascade accountability/life groups from Pastor's new 12 to the next group/generation of men. Regular home visits. Casting the vision and re-launch of the Men's Ministry. Men's Ministry has initiated a number of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual activities to help meet these goals:

Men's Bible Study and Prayer Groups Wednesday Evening Men's Prayer Meeting was initiated in 2006 and continued to be blessing to men as attendance registered some growth. We provide biblically based care and brotherly love through group prayer and visitation, when needed. We focus on special issues affecting men including ministry, marriage and family, work and personal growth.

Saturday Monthly Breakfasts We have also continually held monthly breakfasts on the second Saturday of each month, where men have enjoyed a terrific opportunity for fellowship, a wonderful breakfast and share testimonies from men inside and outside our church. Men have all shared triumphs, and sometimes heartbreaking stories. Men are often moved to laughter or tears by these compelling stories of how God is working. We also take the time to share our praise and prayer requests.

Annual Men's Retreat This annual Men's event draws OHC men for a one day topical conference with focused seminars on a spirit filled life, plus topics on health, finances, family, sexuality, business growth, spiritual learning, etc. The "Total Man" is a punctuated by dynamic worship through song. This year the retreat was held at Lweza Conference Centre with about 300 men in attendance. The retreat covered topics including commitment, family roles and management and communication.

Road Maintenance Project The road maintenance project is a regular outreach activity done twice a year. Championed and sponsored by the Men's Ministry, the project covers the feeder road that leads to the church premises from the main road and involves cleaning, drainage unblocking, grading, leveling, pouring murram and building culverts to improve the drainage system. Approximately 200 men participate in the activity. A tremendous spirit of cooperation and sacrifice allowed there to be a greater spirit of hope for the future of what God will do in the Nankinga community. It is a great work day and even better day of fellowship and new friend building within church members and the community.
